James Way joins the English Concert for the opening concert of their autumn livestream series, singing selected arias from Handel Solomon together with the composer’s Foundling Hospital Anthem, conducted by Harry Bicket.

Elizabeth Watts sings arias from Beethoven Egmont and Ah! Perfido with the Residentie Orkest, conducted by Richard Egarr.

Garry Walker conducts performances with his Rheinische Philharmonie in Karlsruhe, Koblenz, and Weingarten in repertoire including Mozart, Telemann, Beethoven, Schubert and Stravinsky.

Thomas Walker sings Mozart Requiem in a six-concert tour of The Netherlands with the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century, conducted by Daniel Reuss, followed by further performances of the work with the Orchestre national de Belgique at the Palais des Beaux Arts, Brussels, conducted by David Reiland.

Benson Wilson returns to the Oxford Lieder Festival together with pianist Lucy Colquhoun for their festival recital debut, (sponsored by the Kathleen Ferrier Award, of which they were the 2019 winners) livestreamed from the Holywell Music Room. He later makes his debut for Leeds Lieder Festival together with Festival Director Joseph Middleton, as part of the MOMENTUM scheme for young artists launched by Barbara Hannigan.

James Newby, nominated by the European Concert Hall Organisation as a Rising Star, gives his first ECHO recital together with pianist Joseph Middleton, at the Palais des Beaux Arts, Brussels. The recital will feature a world premiere of Judith Bingham “Casanova in Lockdown” which was specially commissioned for the occasion.

Sally Matthews sings Ravel Trois poèmes de Stéphane Mallarmé with the LPO in an online concert, broadcast from the Royal Festival Hall by Marquee TV. The concert will premiere at 8pm on 28 October and remain available (free) for a further 7 days.

Carolyn Sampson is back in the recording studio again this month, this time singing Purcell with The King’s Consort. She also returns to the Oxford Lieder Festival with duo partner Joseph Middleton, for a recital broadcast live from the Holywell Music Room, followed by a recital for their alma mater Birmingham University to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Barber Institute of Fine Arts. and to the English Concert for a live broadcast concert of Handel arias together with Mark Padmore. Carolyn ends a busy month on tour with Helsinki Baroque Orchestra, singing Bach B Minor Mass.

Mark Padmore joins pianist Julius Drake for a recital of English song at Saffron Hall, returning the following evening to perform Britten Serenade for Tenor, Horn & Strings with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Later in the month Mark joins pianist Simon Lepper in recitals for Richmond Concert Society and Roman River Festival, to be streamed online.

Michael Mofidian returns to the Oxford Lieder Festival, together with fellow former Oxford Lieder Young Artist pianist Jâms Coleman, in a recital exploring settings of the 14^th-century Persian poet Hafez, livestreamed from the Holywell Music Room.

Robin Johannsen reunites with the Freiburger Barockorchester and conductor René Jacobs to perform Beethoven Leonore (Marzelline) in concert, in Freiburg, Berlin and Hamburg.

Ruby Hughes reunites with her trio partners cellist Natalie Clein and pianist Julius Drake for an eclectic programme of Bach, Schubert, Ravel, Tavener and Judith Weir, in a sold-out performance for Temple Music, London.

Christian Curnyn returns to the Royal Opera House Covent Garden to conduct a performance of Handel Apollo e Dafne as part of “4/4” – an evening of opera curated by Director of Opera Oliver Mears. The performance will also be broadcast online and available to watch from 7.30pm, 17 October.

Kieran Carrel makes his debut as Lymphea in Cavalli La Calisto for Oper Theater Bonn, where he is a member of the ensemble.

Katherine Broderick returns to the Ulster Orchestra to record Mahler Rückert–Lieder for BBC Radio 3, with conductor Jessica Cottis.

Douglas Boyd makes returns to the BBC Symphony Orchestra for a studio recording of Dvorak and Jonathan Harvey, and later to the Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto Casa da Música, in Portugal, to conduct the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto with Diana Tishchenko.
