Ruby Hughes makes Potsdamer Winteroper debut as ‘Theodora’

Ruby Hughes makes her Potsdamer Winteroper debut this November in the title role of Handel’s Theodora, conducted by Konrad Junghänel.

A passionate interpreter of the baroque and classical repertoires, Ruby’s 18/19 season also includes Handel Brockes Passion with the Academy of Ancient Music at the Barbican, a tour of Handel’s Messiah with Daniel Reuss and the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century, a recital with Laurence Cummings at Gottingen Festival including works from their recent disc with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment ‘Handel’s Last Prima Donna: Giulia Frasi in London’, Bach with NDR Hamburg, and Vivaldi Gloria with Royal Northern Sinfonia under Jonathan Cohen. Ruby also continues collaborations with lutenist Jonas Nordberg, with Quatuor Mosaïques at Vienna Konzerthaus, and returns to the recording studio with duo partner Joseph Middleton for a new recital disc of Ives and Mahler songs.
