Ruby Hughes makes her recital debut for Het Concertgebouw Amsterdam in a programme of Schumann, Mahler, Ives and Britten, with pianist Joseph Middleton. Later this year the same repertoire will feature on their second recital disc together, along with a commissioned song cycle ‘Bright Travellers’ by Helen Grime, for BIS Records.

Also adding to her growing discography this season she releases a recording of Handel’s Brockes-Passion with Richard Egarr and the Academy of Ancient Music, and of Rhian Samuel’s Clytemnestra with Mahler and Berg lieder, together with BBCNOW and Jac Van Steen.

On the concert platform she sings Handel with the Munich Philharmonic; Mahler Symphonies with the Ulster Orchestra and with L’Orchestre national d’ile de France; a commissioned song cycle ‘On the Palmy Beach’ by Judith Weir as part of a trio recital programme with Natalie Clein and Julius Drake; Berg with Stavanger Symphony Orchestra; and Mozart and Mendelssohn with the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra.
