Returns to Opera North and Glyndebourne: Gavan Ring’s first season as tenor!

14 January 2020

Tenor Gavan Ring returned to Opera North to sing arias by Lehár, Tosti and De Curtis in their New Year’s Viennese Concerts conducted by Paul Daniel, and will remain with the Company this spring to rehearse and cover Prologue & Quint Turn of the Screw and Sam Kaplan Street Scene. This follows a long relationship with Opera North as a baritone, singing many roles including Figaro Il Barbiere di Siviglia and Papageno Die Zauberflöte.

He will end this season as First Commissioner in the new Barrie Kosky production of Dialogues des Carmélites at Glyndebourne Festival, where he will also cover Belmonte Die Entführung aus dem Serail. Future seasons see his tenor debuts at La Monnaie, Brussels and Irish National Opera.
