MRM welcomes exciting young soprano Serena Sáenz to the roster for general management.
After studying singing at the Liceu Conservatory in Barcelona, Serena completed her studies at the Hanns Eisler Hochschule für Musik in Berlin, where she is currently studying as a post-graduate in opera. In January 2018, Serena was awarded the Mozart Prize and the Accademia Chigiana di Siena Prize at the Viñas International Singing Contest in Barcelona.
Serena’s recent appearances have included Papagena Die Zauberflöte at the Staatsoper Berlin; Clarice in Haydn Il Mondo della Luna at the Hans Eisler Conservatory, Isabella in L’ingano felice by Rossini at the Teatro Sarrià in Barcelona, as well as soprano soloist in Carmina Burana at the Palau de la Música Catalana under Simon Halsey.
She has been invited to join the Young Artists Programme at the Staatsoper Unter den Liden from next season, where roles will include, among others, Taummänchen Hänsel und Gretel, Papagena Die Zauberflöte, Lauretta Betrothal in a Monastery, as well as two recitals at the Apollo-Saal.
